Emoteplay Apps is a joint venture by myself, researcher Frank Russo and designer Dan Sampson. We make research-based iOS apps to support social development in children. Check out our app, Big Break: The Acting Game, available in the Apple App Store! Big Break is designed to support language and emotional communication in children with autism and other developmental disorders.

Emoteplay was started in 2014 thanks to a grant from FedDev Canada, and has since received further support from the Telus Toronto Community Board. We have partnered with the Geneva Centre for Autism to run a Singing & Drama camp at Ryerson based around the Big Break game, and created a curriculum for therapists and families to follow to help guide children in their emotion learning as they play the game.
